The Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) is the newest and most iconic landmark in Korean design industry. Located at the center of the Dongdaemun area, the DDP serves as a key venue for all design-related shows and conferences, exhibitions, and other events and gatherings.
The DDP was designed by Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid. Hadid focused on the dynamism of the Dongdaemun area, which is in a state of constant flux from the early morning to late night. Her design, entitled “Metonymic Landscape,” uses the historical, cultural, social, and economic characteristics of the area. Based on the concept of a “Metonymic Landscape” and reminiscent of flowing water, the DDP embraces both Korean tradition and the future of ever-changing design, as well as spatial flexibility.
The AGI Open will be held in the beautiful and spatious Art Hall 2 of the DDP. Art Hall 2 is one of two spectacular spaces in the DDP that host large events. The spaces are known for their pristine and cascading white walls and unique atmosphere.
